有人敲他的桌子，也许是乔楚。樊梦坐起身，睁开眼，眼瞼间好似被目屎跟眼水浆着似的，他揉了揉眼睛，见到一张文质彬彬的脸——楚兆春拎着一本笔记，放在樊梦桌上，说:「我刚刚经过，看到你的笔记掉下地了。」
那正是他的梦笔记。樊梦理应以警觉的眼神紧盯着楚兆春，可正如他之前说过那般，他的尊严随昨晚的梦粉碎，现在还未有时间去重构，故樊梦一手顺了顺自己的乱发，瞧了楚兆春一眼，嘴角带笑，说:「thanks.」
楚兆春也对他一笑，就走开。樊梦没有考究楚兆春今天跟谁坐在一块。一下课，乔楚跟琳瑯见樊梦脸色不好，便着他早点回家休息，不要再留连于图书馆。

堂前等校巴，从本部搭车下去祟基附近的大学站，乘车回家。车上，他没有睡，挨着车窗，看着窗外的农地——由大学站搭去大埔墟、太和跟粉岭一带，总能看见一片片香港少有的菜田。与其说他平静，不如说他只有一个空壳:意识在沉睡，所有的「我」都睡着。只有那些分裂出来的「我」睡去，樊梦自己才能甦醒。
他无法作出逻辑性的思考。他的眼睛好似相机的镜头——还是一部失去对焦能力的相机——将一切经过眼底的风景摄入眼底，每秒在脑海里形成无数张影像，又在下一秒来临之前掉落。他是一部没有记忆卡的摄影机。
手里撮着的手机震动了一下。樊梦双眼不再黏着窗外风景，转回手机:有一封新电邮。他是用gmail的，一有新邮件，手机就会震动。
